A LITTLE ABOUT NOONU ATOLL
Noonu Atoll is home to a handful of some of the most exclusive resorts in the Maldives. Namely, the Cheval Blanc, Velaa Private Island & Soneva Jani to name a few of the most recognized luxury experiences. These ultra luxury options are often chosen by high net worth individuals who often travel in their own private jets. The recently completed Maafaru International Airport (NMF) was part of a joint project to market Noonu Atoll as an ultra-luxury tourism destination within the Maldives. The airport removes the need for such guests to transit and leave their private transportation at the primary Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé.
In terms of its beauty, the atoll is peppered with a myriad of unspoilt and sprawling islands protected by colourful coral reef with an array of palm trees, tropical flowers & idyllic white sand beaches all surrounded by a glistening turquoise water filled with rainbow fish, graceful rays & majestic sea turtles. The Maldives are extremely impressive and beautiful throughout, however, this atoll sets itself apart from the rest.
The atoll is also very popular with divers who have an affinity for the exploration of untouched Maldivian diving sites, such as Edu Faru, Christmas Tree Rock & Orimas Thila.
Noonu Atoll contains a total of 13 inhabited islands and finds itself only 45 minutes by seaplane from Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé.
